Missing men rescued from Ocmulgee River

Sergeant Tony Fox from the department of resources says, Two men were rescued      around 11 p.m. last night, after being stranded in the Ocmulgee River.

Fox says the boat they were on may have had motor issues.

  • Twin Oaks Fun Farm, Monroe County. Features pumpkins and a corn maze. 
  • Our Cotton Pickin' Christmas Tree Farm, Hawkinsville. Check their Facebook page for updates.Pick your own pumpkin from the patch. Also enjoy cider or cocoa on the porch while the kids climb the hay mountain. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Where You Live is WMAZ's hyperlocal feature. This means that we are helping bring you more community-specific news more often.

These community websites are a place for you and your community members to share information.

To join our team and share with folks just like yourself, all you have to do is email us your email address and name whereyoulive@13wmaz.com

From there, we set up an account for you. This account lets you log in to your community site and post photo galleries, concerts, community events, 100th birthday parties, your concerns, latest creative projects, how-to advice and anything else you want people in your area to know.

Speedway Honors Late Arlene Pittman with Race


The Arlene  Pittman  Memorial  Stock  Car  Race  is  planned  for  Sat. night,  May 12th  at  Dublin-441 Speedway. 

Arlene  was  the  first  female  Late Model  driver   at  the  Dublin-441.   She  was  runner up  for  track  champion  at  Cochran  Speedway  in 2011.  

She  lost  her life  a few  months  ago with  cancer. 

This  race  will  be  in  conjunction  with  the  Inaugural  Southern  Outlaws  Super Street  Series.  

Gates  open  at  4  p.m.  Racing at 8 p.m.
