WERA National Challenge Series Opens with Gerloff and Lewis setting NEW TRACK RECORDS AT ROEBLING ROAD

In 2 incredible races 2 riders broke the Roebling Road 600cc track record. In race 4 Garrott Gerloff and Jake Lewis were in a tight battle until Jake Lewis went off track in turn 2 on the 3rd lap. This put Lewis back to 5th and left Gerloff out front to put his head down and twist the throttle. Garrott laid down a smoking hot 1:10.9 to break the track record and win the race. After getting kicked back to 5th, Lewis worked his way through the pack and took second place. In their second battle they picked up where they left off in the first race but this time Lewis didn’t run off track. Instead Jake rode the whole race on Garrotts rear tire until the white flag came out and with one lap to go Lewis drafted behind Gerloff and with the type of late breaking you see in MOTOGP Lewis dove into turn 1 to take the lead and the win. Jake’s best lap was a 1:10.6 beating Gerloff by only 3 tenths. If you have the ability to see these riders go at it this year, don’t pass it up.
