300-Plus Ton Machine to Travel Along I-75, I-16 | Transportation
Title (Max 100 Characters)
If you're planning to travel on I-75 and I-16 Thursday nights, particularly after 8 p.m. and into the overnight hours, be sure to make way for a 628K lb. machine press making its way across Georgia.
A machine will be moved from the port of Savannah to KIA Motors Manufacturing plant in West Point, a Georgia Department of Transportation news release.
Drivers should be careful near the equipment, as its 20-feet wide and is expected to move slower than 45 miles per hour.
The wide load will travel along I-16 and I-75 to a weigh station in Forsyth. On Friday, crews move the equipment from the weigh station to Atlanta via Highway 285 westbound and I-85.
