How to Write for 13WMAZ's Where You Live

Where You Live is WMAZ's hyperlocal feature. This means that we are helping bring you more community-specific news more often.

These community websites are a place for you and your community members to share information.

To join our team and share with folks just like yourself, all you have to do is email us your email address and name whereyoulive@13wmaz.com

From there, we set up an account for you. This account lets you log in to your community site and post photo galleries, concerts, community events, 100th birthday parties, your concerns, latest creative projects, how-to advice and anything else you want people in your area to know.

Once you have an account, here are some examples of how you can stay involved Where You Live:

  • Where You Live is your space for public conversation.  Feel free to comment on others' articles. New ideas can crop up just from simple conversations with others.
  • See something bizarre around town? Take a (cell phone) photo and post it to your community site! Maybe someone else will know the background story.
  • Add an event to our community calendar. Click "Add an Event"  on your community site's event section.
  • Like" us on Facebook to include your local news, breaking news and weather warnings and watches in your Facebook feed.
  • Follow us on Twitter for breaking news and weather updates.

The 48th Annual St. Patrick's Festival is set for February 23-March 24 this year, according to the City of Dublin Facebook page.

Wanted: Student Entries for Student Design Contest

Oconee Fall Line Technical College (OFTC) is seeking entries from local students for Georgia's Annual Manufacturing Appreciation Week Design Competition for elementary through high school students. Students from across Georgia will submit artwork depicting the importance of manufacturing to their lives and communities. The contest includes three categories:

Air Show Features Blue Angels

ROBINS, AFB., GA.--The Air Show lineup features performers including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, F-18 Hornets, the C-130 Hercules, and the Air Force F-22 Raptor.

The air show is free and open to the public and starts at 11:30 a.m.

You can park at the Macon Airport, McConnell-Talbert Stadium and Anchor Glass and then catch bus transportation to the show. The shuttle starts at 9:45 a.m. both days and gates open at 10 a.m.

The shuttle runs until 5 p.m.

2012 Heart and Soul Bus Tour Makes First Stop in Dublin

DUBLIN, GA.--Dublin will get to show and tell what makes its downtown vibrant and attractive with state officials, a Main Street Dublin news release says.

Georgia Municipal Association and the Georgia Cities Foundation will begin its 2012 Heart and Soul Bus Tour on April 18th, and Dublin will be the first stop, the release says.

Approximately 50 state agency heads, business leaders, downtown developers and philanthropists are expected to tour eight cities along the Georgia coast.

The news release says that Dublin will have the chance to showcase private and public investments downtown.
