Speedway Hosts Arlene Pittman Memorial Race

 

Dublin-441 Speedway will host the first annual Arlene Pittman Memorial Race this Fri. & Sat. Nov. 2nd & 3rd., featuring the American Dirt Late Model "Super 7" Series, with a record $30,000  purse. Fri. Nov. 2nd  Heats & qualifying in  Road Warrior, Pure Stock, Bomber, 440's, Super Street, and Late Models. A 15-lap LM shoot-out paying $500.00 to the winner, with the pole sitters for Sat. night locked in.   Sat. night Nov. 3rd all features will be run, with a 50-lap-$7,000 to win in LM.  Gates open at 4:00 p.m  on Fri. with racing at 7:00p.m. Admission is $10.00 in grandstands, and $25.00 in pits. Sat. gates open at 3:00 p.m. with racing at 6:00 p.m. Admission is $20.00 in grandstands, and $35.00 in pits.

Speedway to Host Ga. State Championship Memorial Race

The Dublin-441 Speedway hosts the Georgia State Championship "Matt Wood" Memorial Race Saturday.

That's on October 20. 

Wood was a stock car race driver and lost in life in an accident on I-16 in 2010. 

Event organizers expect over 100 drivers from all parts of Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, and Florida for the annual event.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m.

Cost is $15 per person and $5 for children in the grandstands. 
Cost to sit in the pit is $30 for adults and $10 for children.
 

Practice session is Friday night from 7-10 p.m. Admission is $5 in the grandstands, and $10 in the pits.

Dodge, Bleckley, West Laurens to benefit from Alltel program

High school football heroes will not only hit the field this season for a win but also for a good cause, thanks to the second annual Alltel Wireless "Yards 4 Youth Football" program. As part of the program, Alltel Wireless will host special "Alltel Nights" during select high school football games, donating $1 to an area youth football league for every yard of offense gained that game by partner high schools.

Matt  McCullough of Atlanta, Ga. passed Eddie Moss of Deland, Fla., on the white flag lap to score the "Border Wars" victory between Fla., Ga., Ala., and Tenn.  mini-sprint drivers at Dublin-441 Speedway Sat. night Aug. 25th. Moss, the pole sitter led the first 14 laps with McCullough and Dirk Miller of Sanford Fla., in pursuit. McCullough slipped underneath Moss between turns 3 & 4, with several  hundred fans on their feet. Miller settled for 3rd.

In Late Models  Robert "Bloomingdale Flash" Diekemper gambled a last lap pass on leader Phil Pittman of Vidalia  to win His feature event. Eric Bagget and Blake Smith, both of Dublin  were 3rd & 4th, while Matt Dooley of Fayetteville, Ga. was 5th.

Dublin-441 Speedway  will  host  the  first  annual  "Border  Wars"  between  the  Florida  and  Georgia  Mini  Sprints  Sat. night  Aug. 25th.  In  addition  a  "Border  War"  between  Tennille, Ga. driver Jeffery  Yates  and  Dublin  driver  Emory Poole  in the  Bomber Division,  as the they are only eight points difference, in determining the track champion for 2012. 

With  the  final points race this Sat. in  the Road Warrior Division Graham Stevenson and Jacob Simpson both of Laurens County are only two points difference.
