Golf Tournament Supports MDA

Dublin & Laurens County Firefighters are teaming up for the 2nd annual MDA golf tournament to extinguish Muscular Disease.

The tournament takes place at Riverview Golf Course Dublin, GA on Saturday, August 6th, 2011 at 8 a.m.

Soccer Registration Continues

Soccer Registration Week 2 starts today. Cost is $30 per child this week.

Coaches are always needed, fill out an application when you register your child and fax your completed application to Dublin-Laurens County Recreation Authority at 478-272-4153.

Redneck Games Schedule

The coveted Redneck Games makes its return to Dublin this weekend!

TripAdvisor did name the Redneck Games in the top 10 Wackiest Summer Events in the United States.

So if you've never seen it, here is how you can catch it this year:

The event is $5 per person, children under 7 are free.

All the events take place at Buckeye Park at Boatramp Rd. in East Dublin.

Gates open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 9. Games start at noon.

You are weclome to bring coolers, but do not bring glass bottles or pets.

Speedway 441 This Weekend

Saturday, June 11,  you can check out the 441 Speedway.

Racing in Road Warrior, Bomber, PureStock, Super Street, & Late Model Divisions.

 - Gates open at 4 P.M. 

 - Drivers Meeting at 6:45 - Hot Laps at 7:30

 - Racing starts at 8 P.M.

Grandstand Admission:
     Adults $10, kids $5, under 6 free

Pit Admission:  
     Adults $25, kids $10, under 6 free

Electric Car Charging Station Ribbon Cutting

On Thursday, June 2, a car charging station for electric vehicles that are powered by 100% solar electricity will have a ribbon cutting.

This will take place in the MAGE SOLAR Parking Lot in Dublin.

The event is at 2 p.m.

Drivers will be able to pull up, swipe their card and charge their vehicle on a 220V-level 2 charge for no cost.

Tim Echols, Chairman of the Public Service Commission will give his remarks.
