Dublin's Flanders honored

Georgia College freshman Faith Flanders from Dublin, Georgia was named the Peach Belt Conference Softball AstroTurf Freshman of the Week for her performance in helping the softball team to a 2-0 record this past week with a pair of wins over Tusculum College. This marks the second time this month she has been named PBC Freshman of the Week.

Middle Georgia State College announced Tuesday morning that due to pending winter weather and all campuses being closed, Wednesday's home basketball games versus South Georgia Tech have been postponed until Thursday. 

Both will be at Morris Gym in Cochran, women 5:30 pm and men at 7:30.

Former NFL star, Heisman Trophy winner and University of Georgia standout Herschel Walker kicked off his raw talent search in Dublin Saturday. Walker had the idea of showcasing videos of people from small towns and combining it with ecommerce. That means consumers can watch a video online and buy a product at the same time. In turn, the performer can make money.

MGSC wins South Atlantic Conference football title

MGSC wins South Atlantic Conference football title

Middle Georgia State College capped a perfect 11-0 club football season Saturday by winning the South Atlantic Conference title 26-24 over Orangeburg County Tech in Cochran.  Ken Hughes, who took over at quarterback when Kion Button went out with a shoulder injury, was 7 of 16 for 130 yards and a touchdown.  He also had 40 yards on 11 carries as well as five tackles.

MGSC will play for the NCFA (National Club Football Association) title December 7 in Salem, VA.

Baldwin County High grad wins Southern Outlaw Super Street Series

Baldwin County High graduate won his first career win at the Southern Outlaw Super Street Series/Shriner's Race for Children's Hospital in Dublin Saturday.

He and Ashley, pictured, are graduates of Baldwin County High School Class of 2013.
