Dublin-441 Speedway will host it's first annual "Winter Spectacular" stock car race Dec. 28th & 29th at the popular 3/8 miles clay oval. Special events will be the Georgia Pawn & Gold Crate Late Models paying $2,500 to win, with an additional GRW Competition Engines $200.00 to the fastest qualifier.
Next will be Pitts Toyota Scion Southern Outlaw Super Street Series paying a record $2,000 to win!!!!! Races in Pure Stock, Bomber, Road Warrior, & 440's will also be held.
Fri. Dec. 28th a practice session for all divisions will be held from 7-11 p.m.,, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. Fans in grandstands will be admitted FREE!!!, Pits will be $15.00 admission. Sat. Dec. 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Pitts Toyota Scion will host the Speedway's 2012 Late Model Champion 16-yr. old Pearson Lee Williams of Dublin, Ga., the first third generatin and youngest driver to ever win this prestigeous award, along with Jimmy Sharpe, Jr. of Soperton, the 2012 Southern Outlaw Champion. Both drivers will greet race fans and others, sign sign autographs, pictures, etc. "This will be a great opportunity for race fans, along with many people who have never seen and talked with a race driver in person. With other area race tracks closed, We are expecting 150 drivers from 4 Southern States to appear, for the largest race of the season. We are excited to offer race fans and others the America's number one motor sports excitement of stock car racing right here in Laurens County Ga.,and invite everyone to attend this two day event", stated Speedway Promoter Willis Wombles. Speedway gates will open Sat. at 12:00 noon with hot laps at 4:00 p.m. followed by the races. Admission for Sat. is grandstands-adults $15.00, kids-$5.00, Pits-adults-$30.00, kids-$15.00. 441 Speedway is located 6 miles South of I-16 on U. S. 441.
