Whittington and Jones Receive Scholarship | Schools

Dublin- Two Oconee Fall Line Technical College accounting students were awarded scholarships at the Georgia Society of CPAs May 14th meeting.
 
Tanya Whittington and Ricky Jones, both of Dublin, received the scholarship from the Heart of Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPA’s. The scholarships were presented at the Moore Station Village Community Center in Dublin.
 
The Georgia Society of CPAs is a professional organization of CPAs in the state of Georgia, providing legislative representation, accounting publications and educational opportunities for accountants in the area.  The Heart of Georgia Chapter includes CPAs from the following counties: Bleckley, Dodge, Johnson, Laurens, Montgomery, Pulaski, Telfair, Treutlen, Washington, Wheeler, and Wilkinson.
 
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must demonstrate commitment topursuing a career in accounting, be enrolled in a minimum of six semester hours, and have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  Students are required to write an essay on their personal goals and how this scholarship would help them attain these goals.  Members of the Society selected the recipients from the submissions.
