Area high school students start college early at OFTC

DUBLIN, GA - Area students from Dublin High School and East Laurens High School are making the most of their time with Oconee Fall Line Technical College’s (OFTC) dual enrollment program – earning both high school and college credit at the same time.

The students are enrolled in a wide variety of career-ready programs, such as Cosmetology, Emergency Medical Responder, Practical Nursing, Diesel Technology, and Criminal Justice Technology.

“OFTC’s dual enrollment program is a great way for students interested in a career to give it a try,” said Robbie Hobbs, a High School Coordinator for OFTC. “And when they are done, they have a skill that is job ready. They can move into that career after high school, use their new skill for part-time work during college, or continue in the field toward an advanced degree or other credentials.”

Any high school students that are interested in the Dual Enrollment program at OFTC are encouraged to contact their high school guidance counselor or call Robbie Hobbs, OFTC’s High School Coordinator, at 478-274-7765 or at rhobbs@oftc.edu.

Visit www.OFTC.edu and follow the high school link to learn more about dual enrollment opportunities with your local school.
