ROOSEVELT GAINEY

Funeral services for Mr. Roosevelt Gainey, Sr. will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the C.D. Dudley Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Durham-Thomas, officiating.  Interment to follow in Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Gainey was born July 2, 1937 in Laurens County to the parents of Harvey and Eugenia Gainey.  He departed this life on September 1.  Mr. Gainey was preceded in death by a son Ray (Brenda) Gainey; five brothers Doc, Johnny, Mobley Lee, Isaac, and Major Lee Gainey; six sisters Elizabeth Gainey, Julia Watkins, Katie Mae Chapman, Minnie Roe Coney, Shirley Gainey, and Gladys Ashley.

WILLA MAE PLUMMER

WILLA MAE PLUMMER

Funeral services for Mrs. Willa Mae Plummer, 93, will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 12:00 Noon at Buckeye Baptist Church in East Dublin. Rev. Elgin Dixon will officiate. Interment will follow in the Holly Spring Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Plummer, who passed on Sunday, August 21, was born to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. John D. Wells. At the early age of 17 she met and married her beloved husband, the late Russell Plummer. To this union, eight children were born. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bettye and Glenda Plummer, and four sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ebony Shanae Antionette Underwood Lord, 23  will be held on Saturday, August 20 at 1PM at Second Baptist Church. Rev. Thomas Pulliam will officiate. 

Mrs. Lord, who passed on August 14, was born to Monique Watson and Lanford Underwood. She was a graduate of Dublin High School Class of 2006. She was employed with Rescare Homecare. Ebony was a member of Second Baptist Church of Dublin and Heavens Harvest Ministries of Atlanta. Ebony was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mamie Biggs of Detroit, Michigan. 

She is survived by her husband, Joshua Lord; mother, Monique Watson of Dublin; father, Lanford Underwod of Detroit, MI; sister, Michelle (Kevin) Hardy; father and mother-in-law, Deacon Ervin and Tina Lord; two nieces, Zakia hardy, Kamia Hardy; two nephews, Marrius Watson, Zakell Hardy; one brother-in-law, Ervin Lord, Jr. all of Dublin, and a host of many family and friends.

Memorial services for Miss Endora "Pumpkin" Truitt will be held on Saturday August 20 at 11:00 AM at C D Dudley Memorial Chapel at the Dudley Funeral Home. Overseer Bruce Wiggins will officiate. 

Miss Truitt, who passed on August 9, was the first born to Shirley and Marvin Truitt.

She is survived by one daughter, Karisha Truitt; one son, Chester Truitt; three grandsons, Jaquavaion, Jarronate, Mykile Truitt all of Dublin, GA; one sister, Shirley Gainey; one brother, Tracey (Sonjia) Truitt all of Dublin, GA a nd a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be held at 53 Waldrep Road in Dublin.

MARIE NEWSON

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Newson will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 2PM at Everlasting Gospel Church. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.  Prophet Lue Witherspoon will officiate. 

Mrs. Newson who passed on August 12, 2011 was preceded in death by her father, Booker T. Newson; her paternal grandparents, Olabell and Saul Newson, Willie Bell and Oliver Edmond. 

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Stevens of Dudley; three daughters, Wanda Newson, Sandra (Donald) Pittman, Teneishia Newson all of Dublin; one sister, Renee Newson Sparrow of Dublin; two brothers, Lonnie Newsome of Elizabeth, NJ, Antonio (Katrina) Green of Dublin, and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 703 Freds Lane in Dublin.

VAKETA WILLIAMS

VAKETA WILLIAMS

 A memorial service for Ms. Vaketa Denise Williams, 27, will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 2 PM in the C D Dudley Memorial Chapel at Dudley Funeral Home.  

Ms. Williams, who passed on August 8, 2011, was born in Georgetown, South Carolina. Vaketa attended Georgetown High school for two years and graduated from Meadow Creek High School in Norcross, Georgia, where she was an active member of many organizations.

Funeral services for Mrs. Judy David Johnson will be held on Saturday, August 13, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Lovely Baptist Church in Camp Hill, Alabama. Interment will follow in the Camp Hill Cemetery. 

Mrs. Johnson, who passed on August 9, 2011, was the daughter of the late Mr. Jack David and Mrs. Cornelia David. She was a member of Mt. Lovely Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL. She married Mr. Jesse L. Johnson, Sr. on December 25, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Bradja Johnson and grandson, Basil Jamil Johnson.
