WILLIE CARSWELL

WILLIE CARSWELL

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Lee Carswell, 35, will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at 1 PM at Byrd Hill Baptist Church, 2430 Old Hawkinsville Rd, Dudley. Interment will follow in the Eason Hill Church Cemetery. 

Mr. Carswell, who passed on December 5, was born in Laurens County, Georgia to the late Tip Payne and Eloise Payne. He graduated from West Laurens High School in 1993. 

J C KNIGHT

J C KNIGHT

Funeral services for Mr. J.C. Knight, Sr., 92, will be held on Saturday, December 10, at 12 PM at Springhill Baptist Church, 494 Evergreen Road, Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Winfred McCloud will officiate. 

Mr. Knight, who passed on December 4, was born in Laurens County to the late James and Hattie Kellam Knight. He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Mr. Knight was married to the late Lealer Mae Jason Knight for 60 years. To this union, three children were born. He was employed at Warner Robins Air Force Base for 32 years in several positions. 

He was preceded in death by his sister and two brothers.  

EDWARD DENSON

Funeral services for Mr. Edward Denson, Sr. will be held on Saturday, December 3, at 11:00 AM at Sandy Ford Baptist Church at  2614  Highway 80 West in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Elgin Dixon will officiate.


Mr. Denson, who passed on November 28, was the preceded in death by his parents Mrs. Ivielien and Mr. Lonnie Denson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Edward Touche' Todd and his brothers, Tommie and Samuel Denson.  At an early age he joined Jordan Stream Baptist Church.

VERA MAE MASON

VERA MAE MASON

Funeral services for Mrs. Vera Mae Mason will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at the Greater Victory Temple Church at 511 N. Franklin Street in Dublin. Elder Prentis Edmond will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Christian Church Cemetery in Cadwell.

Mrs. Vera Mae Mason completed her earthly legacy on Thursday, November 17, 2011. Mrs Mason was born in Dodge County, Georgia, on November 8, 1941, to the late Marcellus C. and Mary Wynn Ivery.  Mrs. Mason was a devoted mother. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Mason, three brothers, Eudella Ivery, John Henry Ivery, and Milas Ivery, three sisters, Mildred Washington, Georgella Thomas, and Mary Lee Harris. Her spirit lives on in all of us.  Her unconditional love of family and friends will not be forgotten as we say our last farewell, just knowing that she is smiling down on us and is at peace with herself and comforted by all in heaven.

Charles English

 

Charles Wright English, 85, died December 1, 2011 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimers. He was predeceased by his wife, Theresa Rett English and his parents, George and Lucille English.

Mr. English was born in Dublin, Georgia. He graduated from Dublin High School and attended the University of Florida and Mercer University. Mr. English served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former Governor and active member of the Macon Moose Lodge. A partner in Rett Tile Company, his profession was tile setter, painter and builder. Mr. English was a devoted husband, father, and friend, and will be best remembered for his generosity of spirit and giving personality.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie L. "Rickey" Brown, 57, will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 1:00 PM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 4195 US Highway 80 West, Montrose. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. James Brown will officiate.

Mr. Brown, who passed on November 27, was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. Evelyn T. Brown and Mr. Lewis P. Brown, Sr. At an early age, he joined the Macedonia Baptist Church.

LILTON JONES

LILTON JONES

Funeral services for Deacon Lilton Jones, Sr., will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1 PM at the Robinson Chapel Baptist Church, 811 Robertson Church Road, Dublin. Rev James Smith Jr. will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.

 DeaconJones was the son of the late Hershel and Lillian Jones.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy.  He worked at the Veterans Administration Center for 28 years as a housekeeping supervisor. He was a member of the Hatoff Masonic Lodge of the 3rd Degree. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife Willie Mae (Prosser)Jones of 38 years and one son, David Lee Jones.
