MARY BRANTLEY

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lena Brantley, 74,  will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 2 PM at Williams Chapel Baptist Church, 1129 Georgia Hwy 29 South, East Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Rev. James Sherman will officiate. 

Mrs. Brantley, who passed on December 19, was the daughter of the late Eugene and Georgia M. Duffie.  She was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church and the wife of Jimmy L. Brantley of East Dublin for 37 years.  Sher was preceded by her parents and by two children - Angela and James Glenn; four siblings - Clinton (Anna) Duffie; Robert James (Willie Mae) Duffie; Carolyn (Charles) Cross and Luree (Eddie, Sr.) Smith; one son-in-law - Wiley Fred Wright and her mother-in-law - Maude M. Brantley.

JAMES BOSTON

Funeral services for Mr. James Boston, 62, of 541 Ralph Keen Ext, East Dublin, will be held on Friday, December 23, at 2PM at Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3625 Highway 19 South, Dublin. Interment will follow in the Greater New Friendship Church Cemetery.

Mr. Boston,who passed on December 19, was born in Laurens County to the late Annie Clyde Boston. He was a graduate of Mary Fleming High School of 1967 and served in the US Army. He was also a truck driver for many years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Clyde Boston; grandmother, Clara Boston and sister, Ella Bell Boston.

WILLIAM HALL

 Funeral services for Mr. William Hall, Sr ., 76, of 1939 4th Street, Montrose, will held at 11 AM on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the Friendship Baptist Church,  5021 Highway 112, Allentown, with Reverend Phillip Jones officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

Mr. Hall was born in Wilkinson County to the late Mr. James Golden Hall and the late Vinnie Holliman Hall and joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age.  He attended school in Danville and was a logger by trade until he retired.

FRANCIS HOLMES

FRANCIS HOLMES

Funeral services for Mrs. Francis Holmes will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Holly Grove Baptist Church, 221 Holly Grove Church Rd, Dublin. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Chris Watkins will officiate. 

Mrs. Holmes, who passed on Saturday, December 17, was born to the late Willie and Anna Taylor Payne in Laurens County. She worked at Dublinair Nursing Home for many years as a sitter and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Holmes was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Lee Holmes; one sister, Eva Mae Walker and two brothers, James Payne and Johnnie Payne. 

Mrs. Holmes is survived by four brothers, Hardie Lee (Teresa) Payne, East Dublin; Robert (Juanita) Payne, Miami, FL; Willie Otis Payne, Chicago, IL; J.C. (Cilla Mae) Payne, Ft.

MARTHA BROWN

MARTHA BROWN

Funeral services for Ms. Martha Brown, 72, will be held on Saturday, December 17, at 2PM at Living Life Church, 600 West Moore Street, Dublin. Reverend Ryan Wells will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. 

Ms. Brown, who passed on December 14, 2011, was born to Louis and Eunice Brown in Laurens County. 

Ms. Brown is survived by a son, Cecil Brown; granddaughter, Jessica Brown; grandsons, Chadwick Brown and Joshua Brown; great grandchildren, Tyceile M. Brown, Tymilya Brown and Mariah Taylor all of Dublin; aunt, Evelyn Cummings of Dublin; devoted friend, Cora Lee Johnson of Soperton, and a host of other relatives and friends.

JAMES WILBUR

Funeral services for James Lewis Wilbur will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Greater New Friendship Baptist Church, 3265 Highway 19 South, with burial at Mount McRae Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Reverend Robert Fullwood will officiate.

Mr. Wilbur was born to the late Willie Clarence and Bessie Pearl Wilbur on March 27, 1963 in Glenwood, Georgia.  He attended East Laurens High School and worked as a truck driver before his health declined.  Mr. Wilbur passed away on December 5, 2011.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bessie Wilbur, and brothers, Reverend Willie Earl Wilbur and Bobby Frank Wilbur.
