My Teacher is Tops: Saxon Heights Elementary | News
In her five years at the front of the classroom, Kamorra Crafton has helped her students learn all subjects.
"I like the feeling of knowing that I'm teaching something and they're actually getting something out of it," says the third grade teacher at Saxon Heights Elementary School in Dublin.
Robin Serrant nominated her teacher and says she works hard to make sure her students succeed.
"She does a really good job in teaching and she just wants us to do our very best in school," she says.
But it's not all serious studies. Ms. Crafton throws a little fun in her lessons too.
Tyrese Harden says. "One time we did the Cat in the Hat birthday. We made the hat that's on his head, and we made it out of fruit roll ups and marshmallows."
"Sometimes we get to do hands-on projects, and sometimes we get to do activities. And she'll call us up to the board," says Serrant.
They also use computers to drive lessons home which makes subjects like Math and Language exciting.
"You get to do it and have fun with it," says Erika Blue.
With each math problem or sentence read, Ms. Crafton says she hopes her students hold on to the lessons for the rest of their lives.
"It's going to make me feel real good 10 or 15 years from now when I see doctors and lawyers, teachers, nurses."
