Denver Bronco 'Bay Bay' Visits Laurens County | News

Former West Laurens standout and Denver Bronco Demaryius Thomas returned home to Central Georgia during the NFL off season and found time to mentor to some of his hometown Laurens County middle school students.
Thomas, affectionately known as Bay Bay, signed autographs and answered questions from the nearly 60 students enrolled in the 21st Century Community Learning Center After School care program.
Thomas drove home the points that program stands for by emphasizing improving student achievement and behavior as well as parental involvement.
The 6'3," 235-pound wide receiver finished with 32 catches for 551 yards. One of his more shining moments occurred during the AFC Wild Card game, where he scored an 80-yard touchdown catch in overtime from quarterback Tim Tebow to win the game against Pittsburgh to advance to the second round.
Thomas also attended Georgia Tech but skipped his senior year for the NFL draft. Thomas is originally from Montrose.
