The Bleckley offense had been hot going to Firday's regular season finale versus West Laurens scoring a combined 33 runs in their previous two games.  Against the Raiders, BC struggled and was swept in both games of a doubleheader in Cochran.

Caleb Slaughter's first inning home run was the only run in a 2-1 game one loss.  BCHS left the bases loaded with two outs in the fifth inning.  Zac Evans had two of the team's four hits, going 2 for 2.

Despite seven walks from Raider pitching in game two, the offense had just two hits in a 6-1 loss.  Two bases loaded, two outs, opportunities were wasted.  Bryant Trice was 2 for 3 with a double and triple.

BCHS hosts Toombs County, the fourth seed from 2-AA, in round one of the state playoffs May 2.  Game one starts at 4 pm with game two to follow approximately 30 minutes later.

Thursday's home game versus Dublin was no ordinary non-region baseball contest at BCHS.  It was military appreciation night.  Active duty and retired military were recognized before the game.  That included former Royal and current Marine, Lance Cpl. Kace Kirkpatrick.  It was also the return of longtime team chaplain Keith Rustin.  He was hospitalized for over two months due to illiness.

The game itself didn't go well for Bleckley.  Zac Evans' seventh inning single accounted for the team's only hit with runners in scoring position in a 10-2 loss.  Numerous scoring opportunities were wasted including a two on, one, out situation in the first.

Thomas Adcock was 2 for 3.  Austin Simmons went 1 for 2.

Region play resumes Friday at Macon County.  Game time is 5:30 pm.

The Royals were retired in order in the seventh to end the game.  Churchwell finished 2 for 3 with 4 RBI.  Austin Jones and Landon Anderson were both 1 for 2.  Bleckley plays at Taylor County Friday.  Game time is 5:30 p.m.
