Irish look to Fight Adversity in 2012 | HS Sports
Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Dublin Irish are looking to fight some adversity this season, after losing 16 starters from last years second round playoff team. And even though, the Irish finished 11-2 in 2011, they are looking to fill a lot of crucial gaps this season.
Coach Roger Holmes says his team this year is a little more green than gold but he is excited for his team to take the grid iron this season regardless. Holmes also says the Irish will still run the Wing T and 4-3 on defense so the basics won't change in Dublin. Brandon Coney takes over the reigns on offense after long time QB Rob East graduated and is heading to Mercer to play. But come Friday night whoever takes the field, Coach Holmes expects effort. "I want to see us flying around and being physical", says Holmes. "If we can do that. Playing really good on the defensive side of the ball and solid in the kicking game. Then I think our offense can catch up as the season rolls along."
Dublin opens with Dodge County on the road next Friday night.
