Held at Oconee Fall Line Technical College Dubose Porter Training Center, Fair hours are Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Dubose Porter Training Center is located at 560 Pinehill Road just off exit 51 on I-16 in Dublin, GA.

Carl Vinson VA in Dublin honors generations of veterans

New veterans took time to honor those who served before them Monday, Veterans Day.

A group of airmen from Robins Air Force Base traveled to Dublin to spend time with veterans living at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center.

One group made a stop in a wing where patients with Alzheimers and dementia live. Most of them served in World War II or Vietnam.

After sharing stories about their experiences, the veterans, young and old, attended a ceremony in the auditorium.

Licenses can also be purchased online at the Dublin-Laurens County Welcome Center Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Attend a performance of “Walk Among the Shadows,” Dublin’s living history tours of the Old City Cemetery, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26th from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Old City Cemetery located at 305 ½ W. Gaines Street in downtown Dublin. Each tour lasts one hours and shares Dublin’s history using actors in period attire. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and can be purchased in advance by calling 478-277-5074 or prior to the event at the ticket counter.
