Theatre Dublin Hosts Broadway Entertainer

John Davidson, star of Broadway, Film and Television, will present his up close and personal performance at the Theatre Dublin in Dublin, GA on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 7:30 p.m

 John Davidson is known for his career as America’s premier all-around entertainer, a Live on Stage news release says. His career began on Broadway in hit productions of “The Fantasticks” and “Oklahoma.” 

Upper Oconee Planning Meetings Scheduled

The Upper Oconee Regional Water Planning Council plans to hold a series of meetings.

These meetings will focus on the preliminary draft Water Conservation and Development Plan with local government and utilities.

The purpose of the meetings is to gain initial input and feedback from groups that will have primary responsibility for implementing the recommendations in the preliminary draft of the regional water plan.

The three meetings are scheduled for:

February 8 from 9 until 11 a.m. at the Bobby M. Snipes Resources Center, located at 780 Barber St. in Athens.

February 10 from 9 until 11 a.m. in the Legislative Chambers at Georgia Military College, located at 201 Greene St. in Milledgeville.

February 10 from 3 until 5 p.m. in the McGrath Keen Sr Community Center, located at 1200 Bellevue Ave. in Dublin.

Man Up Town Hall Meeting

A Man Up Town Hall Meeting is scheduled to present and discuss empowing young children through positive involvement of fathers and male figures in their lives.

The event will take place on February 3 at Dublin High School in the library at 7 p.m.

Speakers will include Rev. Jamie Paulk, Rev. Clifford Hunter and Brandon Wilcher.

The Heart of Georgia Healthy Start Coalition, Inc. is sponsoring the event.

Valentine's Day Dance to Benefit American Red Cross

A Valentine's Day Dance is scheduled to take place February 12.

The event will raise money for the local Central Georgia American Red Cross.

Joe Powers, host of the Classic Country Jukebox on Y96, will MC and host the dance live on the radio.

The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. until midnight at the Civitan Fairgrounds on Hwy 257 in Dublin.

Tickets are $10 per person at the door.

Dublin Chamber to Celebrate Birthday

In May, the Dublin Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 100th birthday.

The Chamber currently has around 560 members.

Theater to Hold Southern Gospel Concert

Theater Dublin will host music groups The Dove Brothers, The Diplomats and Logan Smith in a Southern Gospel concert.

The event is scheduled for Friday, February 18 at 7 p.m.

Dublin VA Announces Re-Creation "Broadway" Performance

Dublin VA Announces Re-Creation "Broadway" Performance

Dublin VA Medical Center announced today that Re-Creation’s "BROADWAY” show will perform on Monday, February 21, at 2 p.m.   

The show will be held in the Dublin VA Auditorium and is open to the public at no cost a Dublin VA Medical Center news release says.

The group represents Re-Creation USA, Inc., which provides a national program of live entertainment for America’s hospitalized veterans in VA Medical Centers and State Veterans Homes.

Re-Creation was founded in 1976 and performs in all 50 states, including appearances at some of the country’s most prestigious fairs and festivals, at local, regional, state and national corporation banquets and conventions, and at major resort areas performing more than 300 concerts each year.   

The group has also performed for the President of the United States, as well as other leaders and dignitaries.
