"Battle of the Bands" Contestants Needed at MGSC Dublin Campus

"Battle of the Bands" Contestants Needed at MGSC Dublin Campus

 

The Student Government Association of Middle Georgia State College’s Dublin Campus is seeking participants from the public for the 17th annual Battle of the Bands competition. Bands will compete beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at the Market on Madison in Dublin. This event will be part of Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival celebration.

All genres of music are welcome: rock, country, bluegrass, Christian, heavy metal, alternative. The winner, determined by a panel of judges, receives $750, with $500 going to the runner-up.

The entry deadline is Feb. 14. For an entry form and rules, call 478-275-6768. There is a $35 entry fee.

The Dublin Campus SGA is a sponsor of the Battle of the Bands event.

The 48th Annual St. Patrick's Festival is set for February 23-March 24 this year, according to the City of Dublin Facebook page.

Carl Vinson Medical Center to Celebrate 65 Years

The Carl Vinson Medical Center celebrates 65 years Tuesday.

After a US Naval Hopsital became the CVVAMC, the center has provided care for veterans.

Since 1948, the center has added in outreach efforts in outpatient clinics in five communities: Albany, Brunsick, Macon, Milledgeville and Perry.
