Former NASCAR Driver to Appear at Dublin-441 Speedway | Events

Former NASCAR driver Sam Sommers of Sylvania, Ga. will be a Special Guest at Dublin-441 Speedway Saturday.
That's Saturday night, July 14th for the Dublin Auto Sales/Paul's Tire & Auto American Dirt Late Model "Super 7" Series stock car race. Sommers was the 1977 contender for rookie of the year honors in NASCAR'S WINSTON CUP SERIES.
He was first rookie to earn fastest qualifier (pole position) award in NASCAR history, this being at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Oct. 1977.
After retiring from NASCAR, Sam drove and won many races on tracks throughout the South, including 441 Speedway in Dublin, Ga.
Speedway Officials have invited Late Model drivers from throughout the South to participate in The 40-lap, $2,000 to win race Sat. night. Along with other regular classes a 100 car field is expected for the 8:00 p.m. green flag.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Admission is $15.00-adults, $5.00-children in grandstands, $30.00-adults, $10.00-children in pits.The 3/8 miles dirt oval is located 6 miles south of I-16 on U. S. 441.
