Sen. Ross Tolleson (R-Perry) attended the National Conference of State Legislators (NCSL) Environment 2013 Spring Forum on May 2-4 in Denver, Colo.  The forum focused around hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling, but also provided policymakers from across the country with the opportunity to exchange ideas on issues regarding the environment.

“As our country continues to explore innovative ways to utilize our natural resources, these forums allow us to meet and discuss what best suits our state’s needs,” said Sen. Tolleson.  “Since the price of natural gas continues to rise, we must keep our minds open to new ways of unlocking this precious resource.  By learning more about infrastructure, we can preserve our natural resources for the future while also protecting them right now.”

School is almost out in Dublin and Laurens County!

Eight more days left of school for Laurens County Schools.  

The last day of school is Thursday, May 23 for Laurens County. Dublin City Schools have their last day on Friday, May 24.

East Laurens High School Seniors graduate Friday, May 24 and seniors at West Laurens High School graduates Saturday, May 25. Dublin City Schools seniors also graduate on May 25.

Students and teachers, have you thought about what you want to this summer?

Thirty teams are already gearing up for Relay for Life in Laurens County.

The thirty teams and 276 participants have raised 24,799.99 for the American Cancer Society so far, according to the Relay for Life website.

That total may not even reflect all donations.

The Relay for Life event in Laurens County is on May 17 at 6 p.m. at West Laurens Middle School.
