Your tree will then be turned into mulch or used in as a wildlife habitat. In return, you'll receive a free tree seedling.

The event is open Saturday, January 5 from 10-2. Bring your tree to The Home Depot parking lot, Laurens County Collections Center, and Dudley Gym. Seedlings are only available at The Home Depot and Dudley Gym.

Some Central Georgians won't gobble until they wobble on Thanksgiving Day thanks to the "Race for Grace" Half-Marathon, 12K, 6K and one mile run.

That takes place at Marie Baptist Church. Registration for the half-marathon is $35 and the other races are $25 to participate.

Proceeds benefit Teen Challenge Middle GA, a Christian residential program for men struggling with things like drugs and alcohol.

The half-marathon begins at 7 a.m. and the 6K and one-mile run start at 9 a.m.
