The 48th Annual St. Patrick's Festival is set for February 23-March 24 this year, according to the City of Dublin Facebook page.

Recycle Your Christmas Tree This Weekend

You have an opportunity to easily recycle your Christmas tree this weekend in a few locations in Dublin and Laurens County at "Bring One for the Chipper 2013"

Your tree will then be turned into mulch or used in as a wildlife habitat. In return, you'll receive a free tree seedling.

The event is open Saturday, January 5 from 10-2. Bring your tree to The Home Depot parking lot, Laurens County Collections Center, and Dudley Gym. Seedlings are only available at The Home Depot and Dudley Gym.

Remembering to Recycle Holiday Waste

It’s Christmas day, the presents are opened, toys are assembled and you’re surrounded by mounds of colorful, crumpled wrapping paper. The next step – cleaning up Christmas aftermath. This typically begins by smashing wrapping paper, cards and boxes into as many trash bags needed to see your floor again. Those stuffed bags of paper are then thrown out with trash and end up in the landfill. All that wrapping paper you just cleaned up is just that – paper – it all can and should be recycled. Why not start a new tradition and continue the giving by RECYCLING or REUSING that mound of wrapping paper, cardboard toy and gift boxes, Christmas cards and envelopes?... Read More
