Teens accused of stabbing Laurens County man | Crime
The two teens who were arrested for murdering a Laurens County man were in foster care.
Laurens County Sheriff's office says both teens had run away from their foster homes.
Dustin Mitchell's foster home is located on Coleman Register road in the city of Rentz. So far it's unclear if the juvenile suspect lived in the same house. The woman at the home declined to comment.
Both suspects had their first appearance in magistrate court today. They were denied bond because of the severity of the crime.
The case is being transferred to the superior court. There the judge will determine if the 15-year-old will be charged as an adult or referred back to juvenile court.
As for the victim, Curtis Ray Beck, the Laurens County coroner told us he was stabbed in the torso. Richard Stanley says so far, they don't know how many times. It will be about three weeks before the full autopsy is released.
