Dublin-441 Speedway Opens Season This Weekend | Community Spirit
Stock car drivers and fans alike will gather this Friday and Saturday night at Dublin-441 Speedway to show support of a fellow driver Tracy Mimbs, who is receiving treatment for a medical condition.
Tracy, since retiring in 2009, is Crew Chief on his nephew's Tyler new late model racer.
Officials are expecting 100-125 drivers with standing room only for spectators, in support of Tracy.
Thus begins the 2013 racing season at the 3/8 mile-high banked clay oval that has added several new improvements including a 2500-seat high rise bleacher section, a high rise section in the pits, tail gate parking outside of turn 2, with division titles available in all Late Model, Super Street, Pure Stock, Bomber, and 440's.
Friday night will be a practice night for all divisions, with race fans riding along with drivers, if they so desire, proceeds going to Tracy.
Admission is $15.00 for pits, and FREE for the bleacher area. Then Sat. night Pitts Toyota Scion Late Models, Super Streets, Pure Stock, Bomber, and 440's all racing for a purse.
Ride along for fans will also be available. 3 laps for $20 each night. Admission for Sat. night is bleachers-adults-$10.00, children $5.00. Pits: adults-$25.00, $10.00 children.
Track Owner Justin McCorkel stated: "With these new improvements, we can provide viewing for 5,000 fans, while accomodating a field of 150-200 race cars for special events. This Fri. & Sat. we expect 100-125 drivers showing their support of fellow driver/crew chief Tracy Mimbs this will be our fifth year, with all expectations being the best yet of providing clean wholesome entertainment for the entire family."
