Downtown Dublin to Host St. Patrick’s Arts and Crafts Festival | Community Spirit
The 49th Annual Dublin Laurens St. Patrick’s Festival Committee is excited to announce that the St. Patrick’s Arts and Crafts Festival scheduled for Super Saturday, March 22, 2014, will be held at the New Bicentennial Plaza and the Market on Madison.
A combined effort between the City of Dublin and the Festival Committee led to this change in venue. The event also has the support of the Dublin-Laurens Tourism Council and the Downtown Development Authority. With all the additional support, the Festival Committee is looking forward to the biggest and best St. Patrick’s Arts and Crafts Festival ever.
Tara Bradshaw, Arts and Crafts Festival Chairman, is hard at work contacting vendors for this event. She and her committee are planning for a larger number of vendors to fill the space behind Theatre Dublin, the Market on Madison, and adjacent side streets.
The Market Stage will be utilized for entertainment and festival attendees can relax under the Market Pavilion. As always, there will be amusements for the children, arts and crafts booths, and lots of tasty festival food for all. A new line of souvenirs will be available at several Official Festival Events in 2014.
According to Bradshaw, vendor response to this change in venue has been very positive. Anyone interested in being a vendor at this event should contact Tara Bradshaw at 478-697-7626.
Festival General Chairman, Robin Flanders, is pleased to announce that planning for all aspects of the 49th Annual St. Patrick’s Festival is underway.
The Committee is presently seeking new members for the Order of Shillelagh and Order of the Blarney Stones, sponsors, and events. To join one of the orders, please contact President of the Order of the Blarney Stone, Artiffany Stanley, at 478-277-5059 or President of the Order of Shillelagh, Jeff Allbright, at 478-290-9700. To become a Festival Sponsor, please contact Co-Vice Chairmen Lisa McMichael (478-290-6596) or Bruce Birch (478-290-1668).
To enter an event as an Official Festival Event (listed in the brochure, newspaper, and website), please contact Robin Flanders at 478-290-0351.
A new way to support the Dublin Laurens St. Patrick’s Festival in 2014 is to become a Festival Patron. Patrons enjoy the privileges of members of the Orders of the Blarney Stone and Shillelagh. They will also be recognized at Festival Events. Funding generated through the Patron Sponsors will be used to commission a portrait of a Festival Founding Father, R.E. “Dick” Killebrew.
The portrait will be hung in the Keen Center at the Dublin Laurens Chamber of Commerce.
