Laurens County jobless rate reaches 8.6 percent

Unemployment in Central Georgia has decline again since March.

According to a release, the Central Georgia area's jobless rate fell to 7 percent in April, down from March's 7.3 percent.

Laurens County reached an 8.6 unemployment rate.

A year ago in April 2013, Central Georgia's regional jobless rate reached 8.3 percent.

Moore Station Village Hosts 4th Annual Car Show May 17th

Get your engine running and head to Dublin as Moore Station Village hosts its 4th Annual Car Show on Saturday, May 17th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 100 Old Field Lane. Benefitting Habitat for Humanity, the car show entry fee is $20, and can be paid at the event. Registration is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Classes include Antique (pre '40) through later models (1990-2014) with trophies awarded in each class.

Featuring live music, great food, door prizes, and car awards in one of Dublin's first multi-generational planned communities, Moore Station Village, families can also feed the fish, walk the trails, and tour the grounds of this charming community.

A Car Care Clinic sponsored by Pitts Toyota Scion from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. will include advice on changing a tire, checking and changing oil, and checking belts and fluids. Be amazed as Pitts Toyota Scion showcases the latest in Toyota electronics technology.
