The German auto-parts manufacturer, Erdrich Umformtechnik, has a groundbreaking ceremony in July, according to a Dublin-Laurens County Chamber of Commerce release.

That comes after the January announcement that the company would bring 178 jobs to Dublin.

The groundbreaking ceremony is set for July 12 at 10:30 a.m. at 112 Willie Paulk Parkway in Dublin.

In January, Dublin Mayor Phil Best said he's excited to get the construction started and expects the plant to open around the beginning of 2013.

Best says the Erdich Company manufactures brake pistons and metal stampings for companies like Mercedes Benz' Alabama plant, BMW's North Carolina plant, Volkswagen, Kia and more.
