"Bay-Bay" all the way to the Super Bowl | Best Of
Peyton Manning's favorite target during his huge performance in Sunday's AFC Championship game is from central Georgia.
West Laurens grad Demaryius "Bay-Bay" Thomas had a monster game against the Patriots. Before Sunday, Thomas had good yardage (430 yds on 26 receptions) in four games versus the Pats, but had only one career score, and no wins.
Compare that to his success in the playoffs overall: Slightly less yardage (388 yds on 21 receptions), but more scores, and two wins, before Sunday.
Thomas was searching for a big game vs New England, and that elusive win. He got it on Sunday. "Bay-Bay" had 134 yards on seven receptions on the way to the Super Bowl.
Another central Georgia product, cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, was the main victim of the Manning-to-Thomas connection on Sunday.
The Patriots defensive back and Wilcox County grad had the tough task of covering number 88 for most of the day.
