It was another busy week at the Capitol as I spent the majority of my time meeting with constituents and celebrating and commending the hard work they do throughout the year.
It’s always exciting to work with members of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) which is the only state organization that represents municipal governments in Georgia. On Sunday, I spoke on a legislative panel for the GMA Environment and Natural Resources Council. It was an educating experience as we exchanged and discussed issues such as water supply, waste management and air quality and how the legislature is working daily to improve these areas. I was privileged to spend time with District 20 mayors, Mayor James Faircloth of Perry and Mayor Chuck Shaheen of Warner Robins, at GMA’s Mayor’s Day Conference. This conference attracts mayors from across the state and provides workshops and training courses to further their skills as leaders.
