Title (Max 100 Characters)
On February 6 - 7, 2014, Dublin will host tourism professionals from 24 counties across middle Georgia for the 2014 Magnolia Midlands Travel Association Annual Retreat. Organized by the Georgia Department of Economic Development Tourism Division, the Magnolia Midlands Travel Association helps individual visitors and groups discover the region’s vacation options by promoting communities and attractions through partnership and promotional opportunities available through GDEcD. Participation in the Magnolia Midlands Travel Association offers communities within the region the opportunity to collaborate on a strategic regional marketing plan and product development projects. Membership is voluntary and does not affect the services provided by GDEcD; however, membership in a regional travel association is an effective way to stretch your tourism marketing dollars.
Slated to be an upbeat and productive experience, Georgia EMC Community Development Consultant, Jenny Robbins will facilitate the retreat. Passionate about tourism with extensive experience in facilitation and tourism development, Jenny is facilitating compliments of each of the electric cooperatives that serve the Magnolia Midlands: Planters EMC, Excelsior EMC, Canoochee EMC, Satilla REMC, Irwin EMC, Little Ocmulgee EMC, Ocmulgee EMC, Oconee EMC, and Middle GA EMC, as well as the sponsorship of the Dublin-Laurens Tourism Council (Visit Dublin).
Lauren Cleland, Communications Specialist, New Media Georgia Department of Economic Development, will present best practices for social media during the retreat, and Lori Hennesy, Tourism Project Manager, Magnolia Midlands Georgia Department of Economic Development, will discuss state updates.
